Worsted weight yarn has big benefits!
You get to use bigger needles.
US #7 to US #10 are common sizes for worsted yarn. Easy to hold on to, easy to manipulate, big needles make the work go fast.
The hat is warm.
Or the sweater or scarf. The thicker yarn makes a thicker fabric and that means warm.
The yarn can be super wash.
Super wash wool appears often in worsted yarn and it makes for items that can be tossed into the laundry. Think grimy jeans and hat-hair beanies, all laundered together. Clean and wearable. Awesome.
