I have five sisters and four of us are knitters. (No. 5 Sis is a quilter!)

For my birthday this year, my sister MB (one of two Wisconsin sisters) knit an incredible cardigan for me. Imagine my delight at opening a big box and unwrapping this Thea Colman designed cardi!

MB used Brown Sheep Stratosphere in Color S24R "Tree Line." When she ordered the yarn and let me know what she was knitting, I figured it was a great color for her to wear. Well, the cardigan is at my house and I'm loving the color and the texture and the pure joy of a hand knit sweater.

Stratosphere is a DK weight 100% Superwash U. S. wool. The skeins weight 3.5 oz (100 grams) and there are approximately 260 yards per skein. Recommended needle size for a gauge of 22 stitches per 4" is a US #6 (4.0 mm).

Thea's pattern, Smoked Orange Cardigan, is on Ravelry. It's a delight of winding cables with K1,P1 ribbing and reverse stockinette background.The design has lots of texture, a deep button band, and is worked from the bottom up.
