Standing Strong with Angelenos in Times of Crisis

For 35 years, Habitat LA has helped people build strong, stable foundations for their futures. When disaster strikes, our commitment to rebuilding Los Angeles is even stronger.



Wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and mudslides cause more than physical damage. Many are also burdened with overwhelming financial challenges. Habitat LA is here to help restore stability and hope, prioritizing support for low-income households that are uninsured, underinsured—those that are the most vulnerable.

How We Help

Our ReBUILD LA Disaster Relief Program offers services designed to restore safety and stability, including:

·     Smoke and water damage remediation

·     Essential home repairs and rebuilding support

·     Gap financing through silent loans

·     Replacement of lost items like appliances and furniture

Accelerating Recovery



Habitat LA has recently launched the Accelerator Fund, which provides grants of up to $10,000 to help Palisades and Eaton Canyon homeowners impacted by wildfires overcome obstacles and move forward with their repair or rebuilding process. These funds cover expenses insurance and FEMA often don’t, such as permitting fees, legal or title issues, environmental testing, utility connection delays, contractor deposits, and much more.

Unlike a loan, these grants never need to be repaid. They are designed to help households rebuild without delay.

Recovery takes time, but families won’t walk it alone. Habitat LA is there every step of the way -- from the moment disaster strikes to the day families can safely return home.

Latinx heritage is deeply woven into the fabric of our neighborhoods from the culture and traditions that shape our communities to families working to build a brighter future.

Yet, too many in our community continue to face barriers to safe, stable, and affordable housing. High rents and rising home prices often force families to spend more than half of their income on housing, leaving little for essentials like food, health care, and education.

At Habitat LA, we believe every family deserves the opportunity to thrive in a safe and affordable home. Through homeownership programs, critical home repairs, and community partnerships, we are working alongside Latinx families and neighbors to build strength, stability, and self-reliance.
