Mission of Mercy Medical Center

Celebrates 18 Years of "Healing through Love"

Mission of Mercy Medical Center is celebrating 18 years of “Healing through Love” by providing free healthcare to uninsured individuals and families across South Texas.

Since opening in 2007, Mission of Mercy has expanded from medical visits to include vision, dental, mental health care, prescription assistance, and health education—all at no cost. Thousands of patients each year rely on the clinic’s volunteer medical providers, staff, and generous donors.

“Our patients, volunteers, and supporters are at the heart of everything we do,” said Sherry Bowers, Executive Director. “Together we’re building a healthier South Texas.”

"It's Been a Struggle..."

Nicole and her family recently came to Mission of Mercy for eye exams—something they had long gone without due to lack of insurance.

“Finding somewhere to go when you don’t have insurance is a challenge,” Nicole shared. “We don’t have the funds to pay for eye exams out of pocket. It’s been a struggle.”

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, Nicole and her loved ones received comprehensive care at no cost. “The doctors are really nice, especially to the kids,” she said. “I really appreciate the people who donate to Mission of Mercy so that families like ours have somewhere to go. It helps people get the help they need. Thank you and bless you!”

At Mission of Mercy, stories like Nicole’s remind us why we do what we do—and why your support matters. Because of you, families without insurance don’t have to go without care.
