🌎 Celebrate Earth Month â™»ď¸Ź

April is Earth Month, with Earth Day on April 22nd and National Arbor Day on April 26th. Since the first Earth Day in 1970, April has been a significant month for mobilizing and organizing for the modern environmental movement. It’s not only a time to raise awareness and take action on global environmental issues but a time for communities to celebrate their local environment. At Canopy, we like to celebrate Earth Month by stewarding our local urban forests and recognizing trees and tree stewards for their power to make our communities healthier and more equitable.

Don't miss your chance to join us on Sunday, April 14, for Canopy's annual benefit celebrating the expansive urban forestry work and the community-centered effort to foster a green solution movement through the power of trees.

Together we’ll experience the “behind the leaves” impact urban trees give through stronger community bonds, better health outcomes, more career opportunities, and greener, more beautiful neighborhoods. Farewell, Paul!

This month the Canopy team sadly bid farewell to Paul LaVallee, Canopy’s K-12 Environmental Educator since May 2022. For two years Paul has worked with Midpeninsula schools and classroom educators to bring the magic of trees to life and instill an appreciation and excitement for our urban forest in the hearts of his students. During his time at Canopy, Paul had been working toward his master’s degree in education, and he’s moved on to a unique student teaching opportunity in a kindergarten class in Oakland. We wish him all the best!

Canopy's mission is to grow the urban forest in Midpeninsula communities for the benefit of all.

Our vision is a day when every resident of the Midpeninsula can step outside to walk, play, and thrive under the shade of healthy trees.
