Reno Truckee River Walk

Beautiful area to walk. The loveliest part of downtown Reno.

You can walk for mikes along the river or find a bench to sit and watch the river flow. The air is fresh and cool along the river.

Even in the winter, and in cold weather, this park along the river is lovely. Lots of places to make a picnic, places to sit, some performance space, and a long walk with views of downtown, the mountain, and the rushing river.

A great way to start the day. Great coffee house on the path there. Beautiful houses, nice art sculptures on the path.

Recommend walking one side and then the other side on the way back.

National Automobile Museum

The National Automobile Museum is one of the top Reno attractions with a “Wow!” factor you won't want to miss.

The Museum has more than 225 rare, one-of-a-kind, antique and collector cars with authentic street scenes and sounds that bring displays to life. With artifacts, a theater presentation, audio tours, and a Museum Store – there’s lots to see and do.

The Museum is located at 1 Museum Drive near Downtown Reno, on the banks of the Truckee River.

There’s free parking in the Museum lot on Museum Drive off of Mill Street.

Greater Nevada Field

Greater Nevada Field opened in 2009 as the home to the Triple-A Reno Aces, top affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Aces also operate "Aces Events" - hosting large outdoor gatherings and dozens of community events through the year.

The ballpark is walking distance from the downtown casinos, where you can get free parking. The Reno Aces are a AAA Minor League club, so you may see some future Major leaguers.

If you want shady seats in the afternoon, get seats on the 3rd base side. Concessions are pricey but quality is good. Plenty of fun in between innings.

Great family fun.

Nevada Museum of Art

The Nevada Museum of Art is a museum of ideas. The only accredited art museum in the state, it is a private, non-profit organization supported by the generosity of its membership as well as by sponsorships and grants.

Through creative programming and scholarship, the Museum provides the opportunity for people to encounter, engage and enjoy a diversity of art experiences.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday - 10 am to 6 pm.

The galleries, Museum Store and on-site restaurant Chez Louie are closed on Mondays and national holidays.

Animal Ark

These are rescued animals that are in habitats.

It is a dirt and gravel path that leads you on the side of a mountain. So wear good walking shoes as they recommend. If walking is an issue, they have golf carts to rent.

There's lot to see and learn about local animals, flora and fauna. A highlight is watching the bear feeding. It is very cool to see how the food is laid out so that it mimics the natural gathering process. The mountain setting makes the place even prettier.

The staff are great as well. Very friendly and full of information. A great place to visit for sure!
