Certificates of Environmental Liability Release
Redevelopment of Contaminated Properties for Productive Use

In the five years since the Contaminated Property Redevelopment Act authorized the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to issue Certificates of Environmental Liability Releases to certain prospective purchasers of contaminated properties, Blackstone has assisted multiple clients ─ from commercial sites to former gas stations to former manufacturing facilities ─ with successful CELR applications.

OSHA Proposes New Rule to Update Hazardous Communication Standard
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed a new rule to update its Hazard Communication Standard to align it with the most recent version of the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals.

Employee Spotlight: Senior Project Manager Krista Brodersen
Krista Brodersen, Senior Project Manager, joined Blackstone in 2019 and has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental field, including the performance, management, and review of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); Phase II investigations; and remediation system installation and operation. One of her recent projects was a Phase I ESA in Illinois on a 115-year-old manufacturer of carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and brass.
