MGC Global's business continuity & resumption barometer
We pray that you, members of your family and your teams are keeping safe in these testing times.

At a time when you are inundated with  several messages and mails relating to COVID 19, we thought of breaking through with a purposeful and pertinent checklist that has best practices relating to running your organization during the lockdown; and thereafter resuming operations from your premises.

MGC Global Risk Advisory LLP (‘MGC Global’) has, for the benefit of its clients, developed a unique excel based tool that provides  guidance and seeks to measure the efficiency of organizations  and various functions in the context of business continuity through remote working and their ability to restore their operations once the lockdown is lifted.  This detailed checklist-based macro-driven tool  (referred to as the 'MGC Global Business Continuity & Resumption Barometer’)  also incorporates developments in the context of regulatory requirements that include directions issued by the Union Government of India  (including various union ministries, such as the ministry of home affairs, ministry of finance, ministry of health & family welfare)  and the Reserve Bank of India.

Importantly, the utility of undertaking an  assessment of the risks with implications of the force majeure clauses that organisations have in their contracts with customers, vendors and employees  has also been identified by our experts, in this tool. Other significant aspects set out in this tool include (a) establishment of  communication protocols ; (b) assessment of measures relating to  security, availability, confidentiality, processing integrity and privacy  in the context of the remote functioning of your workforce; (c)  changes to the current set of standard operating processes  (‘SOP’)s and authority level matrix as a consequence of digitizing and automating core business processes in remote functioning; and (d) integration of operating guidelines  (issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs)  relating to resumption of operations at your organization’s premises with your SOPs.

We will be sharing the MGC Global Business Continuity & Resumption Barometer with our clients during the course of this week for their reference and use. Due to the inherent nature of such tools, the MGC Global Business Continuity & Resumption Barometer may need varying levels of customization and amendments in keeping with the nature, size and complexity of the operations of its users; which can be undertaken by the respective organisations with due oversight from their internal/external experts. Please write to us at contactus@mgcglobal.co.in  if there is anything we can do to assist further.

We are with all our clients who are sustaining their business through this crisis; and are also proud to be associated with those organisations who are servicing our great nation as part of the essential services they provide.

Once again, stay safe, stay strong and remain positive. The good times will be here again soon.

Best wishes,
Markets Team
