๐ CSA showed up. We always do.
Two days ago was International Womenโs Day. I was in Chicago for the Spring ASA Board of Directors meeting, in a room full of physician leaders doing exactly what we do: show up, do the work, and hold the line.
WHY IT MATTERS: The ground is unsteady right now โ federal funding, workforce pressure, scope of practice battles. CSA is at every table that matters, paying attention and fighting for you.
๐ก THE BIG PICTURE: Two weekends ago our board sat down and asked the hard questions about ourselves โ not our patients, but our organization. Are we building the next generation of leaders? Are we actually reaching people? Are we accountable?
The answers were honest. And the most important frame I heard: our responsibility to CSA is the same as our responsibility to our patients. You donโt hand it off. You show up and do the work.
โญ SPOTLIGHT: Dr. Christine Doyle, Californiaโs ASA Director, is running for ASA Vice Speaker of the House of Delegates this October. She is steady, principled, and tireless. Please support her candidacy.
๐ On International Womenโs Day โ one more thing.
I saw women leading in every room I was in this weekend. Setting the agenda. Asking the hard questions. Holding the line. I see you.
If you want to get involved and donโt know how โ just ask!
๐ THE BOTTOM LINE: CSA is your organization. We are in Sacramento, at the national table, and in the rooms where the decisions get made. You donโt fight those battles alone.
With gratitude,
