Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with a week of community events

The City's beloved Fourth of July Street Fair and Pushem-Pullem Parade returns on Saturday, July 4, along with a week-long series of community events celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.


Festivities begin Saturday, June 27, with daily activities and events taking place throughout Ventura leading up to Independence Day.

Tennis court updates and schedule

The tennis courts at Camino Real Park are closed after an inspection found the courts have reached the end of their useful lifespan and require a full rebuild. The City is working to relocate summer tennis camps and classes, and participants will be contacted with updates.


Alternative public tennis courts are available at: 

  • Juanamaria Park - N Kimball Rd. & Loma Vista Rd.
  • Harry A. Lyon Park - 150 De Anza Dr.

Ventura PD to participate in the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run

Ventura PD will participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting local Special Olympics athletes on Thursday, June 4, from 8:00–9:30 a.m.


Officers and staff will carry the “Flame of Hope” on a four-mile route beginning at Ventura City Hall and ending at the Ventura Pier, where the torch will be passed to Harbor Patrol personnel.


Residents may notice temporary traffic impacts in the downtown and midtown areas during the event and are encouraged to plan ahead for their morning commute.


Community members are welcome to cheer on participants along the route or support the cause by donating to Team Ventura PD.

The City is seeking residents interested in making a difference in their community to apply for vacancies on several boards, commissions, and committees that play a vital role in shaping the city's future.

June 5: Pop Up in the Park with Community Development

Stop by Community Development's next Pop Up in the Park, on Friday, June 5, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., at Marina Park located at 3000 Pierpont Blvd.

June 12: Ventura PD holding DUI checkpoint

Ventura Police officers will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, June 12, 2026, at an undisclosed location in Ventura.


During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. This includes impairment from prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and marijuana, all of which can affect a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely.


Please plan ahead by designating a sober driver or using a rideshare or taxi service.


If you see a suspected impaired driver on the road, call 9-1-1.

July 4: Pushem-Pullem Parade & Street Fair

Join in the 49th annual 4th of July Street Fair & Pushem-Pullem Parade on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Ventura's Downtown District. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. in front of Cemetery Memorial Park, leading into the Street Fair along Main Street.  


Enjoy a festive day featuring over 100 artisan vendors, a car exhibit, food trucks, a kids’ area, live entertainment, and more.
