The San Diego Registrar of Voters is committed to making it easy for Vista residents to participate in this year’s presidential election. With multiple options for casting your ballot, now is the time to make your voice heard.

City of Vista Hosts "Salute to Service: Veterans Day Ceremony"


The City of Vista invites the community to come together to honor the courage and sacrifice of our nation's veterans at the upcoming "Salute to Service: Veterans Day Ceremony." This heartfelt tribute, set for Monday, November 11, 2024, will be held from 10 am to 11 am at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 267 S. Santa Fe Avenue, across from Pepper Tree Frosty.


The ceremony will include a salute from the Vista City Council, along with inspiring speeches from special guests and presentations honoring the service of local veterans. This event reflects Vista’s gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, providing a moment for the community to come together in support of those who have dedicated themselves to our nation.


Veterans, families, and community members are all encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful tribute. Join us for this special occasion to show appreciation for the veterans in our community and recognize their invaluable contributions to our country.

Vista Residents Invited to Participate in Age-Friendly Plan Workshop on November 7


The City of Vista invites residents to take part in this week’s Age-Friendly Plan Workshop, scheduled for November 7. This important workshop aims to gather community input that will shape the city’s comprehensive Age-Friendly Plan, a roadmap for making Vista a more livable, accessible, and welcoming place for residents of all ages.


This initiative, part of Vista’s commitment to supporting its aging population, seeks to address the specific needs of seniors while enhancing the quality of life for the entire community. By attending the workshop, residents can provide direct feedback and contribute ideas that will guide future city planning efforts, ensuring that Vista remains a vibrant and supportive environment for people of all ages and abilities.


City officials encourage everyone to join this collaborative effort, as input from a diverse group of residents will help the city create a plan that reflects the needs of the community. The Age-Friendly Plan will address key issues, from accessible public spaces and transportation options to age-inclusive services and resources.

Age-Friendly Plan Workshop

Free After-School Programs for Vista Youth at the Linda Rhoades Neighborhood Community Center


The Boys & Girls Club of Vista, with sponsorship from the City of Vista, is offering free after-school recreation programs at the Linda Rhoades Neighborhood Community Center, located on the Vista Academy of Visual & Performing Arts campus at 600 N. Santa Fe Avenue. This exciting initiative, designed for youth in grades K-8, provides a safe and engaging environment for children to explore sports, recreation, and healthy lifestyles through the "Triple Play: Mind, Body, Soul" program.


The program will run from October 14 to November 1, 2024, and features activities like soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, baseball, and dodgeball. Each sport will be introduced in a six-week cycle running Monday through Friday, with specific dates to be announced. Space is limited to 50 participants per session, ensuring a focused and supportive environment for all attendees.
