YouTube video on Wildfire Preparedness and Defensible Space

Wildfire Preparedness in Action

As part of Wildfire Preparedness Week, CAL FIRE, in partnership with California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety, released a powerful video demonstrating the importance of home hardening.

The side-by-side demonstration shows how a hardened home—built with fire-resistant materials and surrounded by defensible space—survived flying embers, while a typical home without these protections was quickly destroyed by fire.

Watch the video above to see firsthand why preparing your home for wildfire season can make all the difference.
