Join the Downtown Vista Inaugural

Committee Meeting on March 7


The City of Vista invites residents and downtown merchants to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Downtown Vista Committee on Friday, March 7, at 6 pm at the AVO Playhouse, 303 Main Street. This newly formed committee, composed of City representatives, downtown business owners, and community members will provide recommendations to the City Council on future traffic circulation in the downtown area, including potential changes such as one-way streets and street closures.

 

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as a networking reception with complimentary tacos will begin at 5 pm. This meeting marks the first in a series of community discussions designed to gather input and shape the future of downtown Vista. All are welcome to contribute their ideas and help create a vibrant and accessible downtown experience.

Out and About Transportation Program's

March Shopping Schedule


The McClellan Senior Center’s Out & About program makes grocery shopping easier for Vista’s seniors by providing ADA-accessible transportation to local stores. Participants are picked up at their homes starting at 9 a.m., given about an hour to shop, and then returned home.

Call to Artists: Mural Opportunity

in Downtown Vista


The Vista Public Arts Commission is seeking artists to design and install a vibrant mural at Shaks Mediterranean Bistro, located at 406 Main Street. This large-scale project, measuring 7 feet high by 100 feet long, offers a unique opportunity to enhance downtown Vista’s artistic landscape.


The selected artist will receive a $5,000 honorarium, with the business owner making the final selection. The proposed artwork must be approved by the Public Arts Commission and the Vista City Council. Interested artists must submit their proposals by Thursday, March 13, at 4 pm.
