City Council Meeting Set for October 22


The Vista City Council will meet on Tues., October 22, at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive. The meeting is open to the public, and you can attend and participate.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Workshops

Learn about Vista’s Community Development Block Grant program and help direct future funding decisions. These workshops are an opportunity to ensure that federal resources are used effectively to benefit low- to moderate-income residents and address critical community needs.


Age-Friendly Plan Workshops

Dates: October 30 and November 7

Help us create a comprehensive Age-Friendly Plan that supports residents of all ages. Your feedback will guide efforts to make Vista a more livable, accessible, and welcoming community for everyone, especially our senior population.


Vista Village Traffic & Railroad Safety Workshop

Date: December 2

Join us to discuss potential improvements to traffic flow and safety in the Vista Village area, particularly around the railroad crossings. Your insights will be crucial in enhancing mobility and safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike.

Fire Station 3 Reconstruction Underway


The City of Vista officially began the reconstruction of Fire Station 3 today, as demolition crews broke ground at the station's location at 1070 Old Taylor Street.


In the meantime, Fire Station 3 has been temporarily relocated to 1250 Arcadia Avenue. City officials assure residents that there will be no changes or reduction in services provided by the Vista Fire Department during the construction period.


The new and improved Fire Station 3 is scheduled to reopen in December 2025, with updated facilities aimed at enhancing the department's ability to serve the needs of the Vista community.

Final Fire Station Open House this Saturday


The Vista Fire Department invites you and your family to participate in the last Fire Station Open House this Saturday. Come meet our dedicated firefighters, paramedics, and other personnel while exploring fire trucks and learning essential fire safety tips.

Fright Night on Main Street Returns This Friday


Get ready for a night of thrills, chills, and Halloween fun as Fright Night on Main Street and surrounding streets returns to Vista on Friday, October 25, from 5 pm to 9 pm. This family-friendly event has become a community favorite, offering a wide variety of activities and entertainment for all ages.


Event Highlights


  • Trick-or-Treating along Main Street, with local businesses, the Vista Fire Department, the Public Works Department, and the Sheriff's Office handing out candy.
  • A Haunted House at the AVO Playhouse, sure to scare and delight brave souls of all ages. (Tickets sold on-site: $4 for kids 10 and under, $6 for all others.)
  • Costume Contests for all ages, including categories for babies, kids, adults, and even pets! Show off your best ghost, goblin, superhero, or movie star look.
  • Baby Costume Contest – 5 pm
  • Kids Costume Contest – 6 pm
  • Pet Costume Contest – 7 pm
  • Adult Costume Contest – 8 pm
