Since the outbreak began last year, there have been a total of 42 hospitalizations, including ICU admissions, with 23 patients under 10.

  • Manitoba continues to lead the nation, accounting for 60% of new cases identified across the nation in Health Canada’s most recent report.
  • Newest exposure sites include: St. Boniface Hospital and Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, along with Selkirk Regional Health Centre and Easton Place Medical Clinic in Selkirk. View all exposure sites here.
  • Royal Manitoba Winter Fair: Public Health staff said they were able to administer a “few” measles vaccinations at a Brandon’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair booth in Brandon last week, and are continuing to monitor for any cases possibly linked to that event.

Talking to patients about vaccines: Please visit our Doctors Manitoba Measles Updates page for physician-curated resources, including tips for talking to patients about making the decision to get vaccinated and how to access their records if they are not sure.
