Free Saturday Shuttle Services

City of Bainbridge Island & Kitsap Transit

This summer, Kitsap Transit in partnership with the City of Bainbridge Island, is offering a FREE Saturday Shuttle service that loops around Downtown Bainbridge. The shuttle service will start Saturday, June 7th and continue every Saturday through September 12thexcluding July 4th. Saturday shuttle buses will run from 11:00am to 7:00pm

The fixed-route bus service loops from the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal and makes stops at established bus stops along Winslow Way, Madison Avenue, and High School Road. It will also stop for people who wave the bus down along High School Road and Ferncliff where there are no established bus stops–also known as “flag stops.”

View the route map to the right.

We are grateful to the City of Bainbridge Island for funding this shuttle service and to Kitsap Transit for operating and staffing it. The Chamber is proud to partner with these organizations and the Downtown Association to promote the service and educate riders. We’ll see you on the Free Saturday Shuttle this summer!

Cranes for Peace Project

Join the Chamber in a Community Art Project for Peace

In partnership with Asian Arts & Heritage Festival, Sonoji Sakai Elementary School, and the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Cranes for Peace Campaign. We’re at the tail end of our goal of 2,000 cranes–with less than 100 to go! We’re so grateful to everyone in the community for joining us in folding paper cranes. Shout out to Raelynn, BIMA Bistro’s very own barista and latte artist, for creating this incredible crane latte art in support of our campaign! And a special thank you to the 5th and 6th graders at Sonoji Sakai Intermediate School for donating this incredible display of 500 cranes.

You can view a selection of our cranes this weekend at the Asian Arts & Heritage Festival with Arts & Humanities Bainbridge this Sunday, May 31st from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Waterfront Park

See You at the Grand Old Fourth!

The Grand Old Fourth of July festival is a beloved Bainbridge Island tradition dating back almost 60 years. It is the largest single-day event on the Island, drawing more than 15,000 attendees each year. The Bainbridge Chamber hosts and produces the Grand Old Fourth every year, thanks to logistical support from the City of Bainbridge Island, personnel support from 75+ community volunteers, and financial support from our generous local sponsors. All your favorite events for 2026 - Pancake Breakfast, Classic Car Show, Street Fair, Family Fun Zone, Pie Eating Contest, Mile-Long Parade, and MORE. Don't forget to register your business, nonprofit or community organization early to ensure you don't miss the fun.

Interested in volunteering for the big event? Yes, please!

Star and Stripes Tie-Dye Event

In partnership with Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island and Bainbridge Island Museum of Art

What an incredible day at the Stars & Stripes Tie-Dye event during BIMA’s Family Day. We want to send a huge shout-out to the amazing volunteers from Bainbridge Rotary and BIMA, as well as Sal Celis, Public Image Chair of the Bainbridge Rotary Club, for organizing this event! More than 75 families showed up! We had the best time watching visitors of all ages get creative with dye and create fun family memories.

We absolutely cannot wait to see everyone rocking their red, white, and blue wearable art during the Fourth of July celebration! Make sure to stop by the Chamber Info Booth during the Grand Old Fourth with your tie-dyed scarf to receive a special prize!

Sail Bainbridge

Have you ever seen our island from the water? It’s a whole new experience.

Now in their 11th year, Sail Bainbridge is a local family-owned and operated business. Recently featured in the State of Washington Travel Guide, they offer private, customizable sails from the Harbour Public House dock, aboard the classic vessel TRUE (the red sailboat with three sails you’ve likely seen from the ferry). Bring visiting family, the kids, or whoever you like for a private summer day sail to Blake Island, a romantic sunset cruise, an overnight adventure, or perhaps even a week-long San Juan exploration.

Sail Bainbridge gives 1% back to the planet through donations to the Puget Sound Restoration Fund (PSRF), and Sail Bainbridge Owner Ben Doerr, serves as captain for PSRF’s dive teams at the Bull Kelp research and restoration sites.

Make memories on the water. See all sailing packages and book a sail now!

According to Plan: The History of Zoning and the Future of Washington Communities

One hundred years ago, the Supreme Court established the constitutionality of zoning. Today, this hyperlocal process is interacting with state mandates to accommodate regional growth, spawning debate over control, inclusion, and sustainability. To assess how land use policy can advance its goals, Washington compiled code from 320 jurisdictions into the Washington State Zoning Atlas. Co-creator Tamara Laninga will share findings from the atlas, walk us through the history of zoning, and reveal the land use policy that lies beneath our most livable communities.
