SAVE WATER THIS SUMMER
Welcome to the July edition of Water Currents, where we bring you the latest updates, tips, and resources to help you enjoy a water-wise summer season. As the temperatures rise, it's important to stay mindful of our water usage while still making the most of this vibrant time of year.
SCV WATER FEATURED IN ACWA NEWS FOR PFAS RESPONSE
SCV Water has been featured as a case study in the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) News, highlighting our exceptional response to the PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination issue. Together, we will continue to forge ahead, implementing innovative solutions and ensuring the well-being of our community.

As one of the first water agencies in California to confront the PFAS challenge head-on, we faced significant hurdles. However, through collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast dedication to our mission, we have made substantial progress in managing and mitigating PFAS contamination.

It’s California Invasive Species Action Week! Did you know that the Arundo plant seriously threatens our beautiful landscapes and water resources? 🌾 This invasive plant species has been spreading rapidly, outcompeting native vegetation and wreaking havoc on our delicate ecosystems.

Join SCV Water in the fight against Arundo! 🤝 This week, we're taking a stand by raising awareness on this invasive plant.

đźš© Just one acre of Arundo can consume more than 11 acre-feet of groundwater in a year (that's enough to serve about 25 families).
đźš© It tolerates both drought and flooding.
đźš© Arundo is very flammable and increases erosion in the riverbed.
đźš© Share this post and raise awareness about the Arundo invasion.

Let's work hand in hand to preserve the natural beauty of our region and ensure a thriving future for all. 🌎💚
