We Are Pleased to Introduce the Newest Member of the Botti & Morison Team: Raul Castro!

Raul Castro is a member of the Orange County Bar and is admitted to practice law in the State of California, as well as the United States Court of Appeals (Ninth Circuit) and possesses 30+ years of legal experience.


He grew up in the San Joaquin Valley where he attended Elementary, Junior and High School. As a teenager, he worked in agriculture (farm work) and as a mechanic assistant at NAS Lemoore. He attended UCLA where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree and received his Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from Western State University (WSU), passing the bar in 1979. Raul has been a member of CAAA (an organization that advocates for the rights of injured workers) for more than 40 years and speaks English and Spanish fluently.


Raul previously worked in the city of Buena Park and was associated with Attorney Marvin Warren (Law Offices of Warren, Castro & Associates). Marvin Warren retired in 2010, and Raul took over Mr. Warren’s remaining cases. He has 40+ years of legal experience, now resides in Santa Barbara, and has recently joined Botti & Morison Estate Planning Attorneys, Ltd. This gives us a combined 100+ years of experience which benefits our clients all the more!

Medi-Cal Eligibility & Nursing Home Care

You might want to think again if you believed Medi-Cal planning meant only meeting strict income and asset limits to qualify for long-term care. Medi-Cal eligibility can be challenging because the criteria are not always clear. You will also need to demonstrate you need the level of care typically provided in a nursing home setting. Health eligibility rules are valid if you apply for nursing home coverage or a Medi-Cal waiver program for coverage in your home or assisted living facility. California has a level of care requirement and criteria to determine if you meet the mandated level of care.
