Cub Scout Day Camp

Cub Scout Day Camp will be offered to Cub Scouts throughout Washington Crossing Council in July and August of this year. Day Camp is a week-long program that runs from 9am-4pm each day. Day Camp programs will be offered in four separate locations throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania in order to cover as much of the council’s geography as possible.

WHAT HAPPENS AT DAY CAMP?

Cub Scouts of all ranks can attend (although Tigers will need to register with an adult Tiger Partner). Like a regular Cub pack, Cub Scouts are assigned a den with Scouts in their own grade. They will stay in these dens for the week while participating in outdoor skills, STEM activities, games, cooking, crafts, nature, and much more! Campers will learn new skills, make new friends, and earn recognition for their accomplishments. Day camp takes place from 9am-4pm, Monday to Friday, at each location. Each camp also has a check-in on Sunday to pick up camp shirts and take care of any last-minute paperwork.

Scouting for Food

Scouts Help to Tackle Hunger with Annual Super Bowl Saturday Food Drive

32 degrees. 6 collection hours. 150 Youth Volunteers. 108 Adult Volunteers. 8 Grocery Stores. 226 cans of tuna at one collection site. 22 shopping carts full of donations at another site.

Hunterdon County Scouts, members of Scouting America, Washington Crossing Council, teamed up with local grocery stores from Flemington to Washington and from Clinton to Branchburg to hold their annual Storefront Scouting for Food drive from 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, February 8.

What is immeasurable is the generosity of customers who received lists of the items most needed by local pantries and gave donations to the Scouts at the doors to provide help for people in need.

Scouting America WCC Updates

  • Last spring, the Boy Scouts of America national council announced that it will be changing its name to Scouting America. This change reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to welcoming every youth in America to experience the benefits of Scouting. The name change will formally go into effect on February 8, 2025, which is the organization’s 115th birthday. Locally, the council will still be known as "Washington Crossing Council", and formally will appear as "Scouting America, Washington Crossing Council".
  • Washington Crossing Council has a new website link: https://www.wccscouting.org
  • The council and district newsletters are being caught in some reader's spam filters. To help ensure delivery, Scouters are encouraged to add news@wccscouting.org to their contacts.
