OSHA Safety Update: Hurricane Season Begins

The Atlantic hurricane season began June 1, marking the time for insulation professionals to review emergency preparedness plans. Severe weather events can disrupt operations, damage equipment and facilities, and create safety risks for employees both before and after a storm.

Members should evaluate their emergency response procedures, communication plans, and workplace safety protocols before severe weather strikes. OSHA and Ready.gov offer planning tools and preparedness resources that can help employers protect workers, minimize downtime, and support a faster recovery following a storm.
