Become a Certified Appraiser with NIA's Insulation Energy Appraisal Program™


The Insulation Energy Appraisal Program™ (IEAP) is a 2-day course that teaches students how to determine the optimal insulation thickness and corresponding energy and dollar savings for a project.

Product Focus: The NIA Insulation Sampler


The NIA Insulation Sampler provides samples of generic mechanical insulation product types and accessories. These small, portable sample boxes are designed for ease of use, with an illustrative product schematic guide that denotes the product type. Each sample has its own compartment space to remain organized and undamaged within the sample box. In developing this kit, NIA aimed to represent many major mechanical insulation types. The kit is an excellent tool for your internal training and resource library, as well as external sales discussions and presentations.

Insulation Standards Meeting in Houston, Texas


The joint NIA/Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Standards Committee (SC) 27, Mechanical Insulation, will take place on Mar. 16 during the 2026 AMPP Annual Conference and Expo in Houston, Texas. SC 27 is under the leadership of Chairman Jeff DeGraaf, NIA Consultant, Vice Chairman Scott Sinclair, Johns Manville, and Secretary Michael Pardo, S&B Engineers and Constructors. In-person registration is required, and virtual attendance options are available.


Call to Action: NIA members can get involved by requesting to join the NIA working group and/or by joining the AMPP SC 27 (you do not need to be an AMPP member to join).

Safety Update: National Ladder Safety Month


Every March, professionals across construction, engineering, and related industries pause to raise awareness of ladder safety and work to reduce ladder-related injuries and fatalities. This initiative encourages companies and workers to prioritize proper ladder selection, inspection, setup, and safe climbing practices.
