February 2021 Newsletter
It's almost March and we're excited for Women's History Month, Daylight Savings, and St. Patrick's Day! Learn more about what Guadalupe School is doing to help the community in regards to COVID-19 precautions, giving back to our students, and transforming lives through education.
The safety and health of our employees, students, and community is the top priority of Guadalupe School. We are happy to report that all of our staff have now received at least their first dose of the vaccine. Our hybrid A/B schedule has been working great and we have had no COVID transmissions or issues in our school since before the holidays!
Literacy is key for our students and we are thrilled that we were able to give each and every one of them a brand new book for Valentine's Day. Thank you to VCBO Architecture and many other individual donors for helping us gather over 400 books for our students. Our kids are tops in our book!
Transforming Lives Through Education
This is Pedro's first year working for Guadalupe, but he is no stranger to our programs. Pedro's history with Guadalupe goes as far back to when he was a one year old and he attended our Early Learning Center in-home program. Pedro was a trailblazer and a part of Guadalupe's very first 4th grade class! You will see him at the front desk answering the phones with a smile on his face and dressed to impress! Pedro is our attendance coordinator and is vital in making sure our students are in school everyday.
Every month our adult education students all take part in writing a "Students in the News" newspaper. Part of their latest edition included writing about their goals for 2021. We loved what Claudia wrote and wanted to share with you.

"My goal is to learn English. I will reach my goal by reading and watching TV in English. I am willing to make sacrifices like waking up earlier or going to sleep later. On a scale of 1-10, I’m a “10” in my desire to reach my goal. The benefits of reaching my goal are helping my kids in school, getting a
good job, and communicating with others in this country."
