Your Island in a Storm:

⚓️ Providing a Clear Scope to Help You Navigate a New Year⚓️

Greetings for 2026!

It's bewildering to comprehend how fast the last year flew by

as we all settle in for another chariot ride around the sun!

Here is our latest news, along with a sneak peek of what we're focusing on!

Last month, Michele was honored to be a guest on WPRI-12 Spotlight New England and had a wonderful time re-connecting with co-hosts Audrey McClelland and Ashley Erling. These two women bring grace, humor and good vibes to everyone they meet. It was fun to fan-girl with them!

[And we hope Clarke Cooke House enjoyed the impromptu cameo shout-out at the end of the interview!]

You can watch the edited clip of the interview here, or by clicking on the TV screen photo below. Thank you Audrey & Ashley and WPRI-12 for the warm Holiday welcome and TLC!!

Recent Updates:

Michele's biweekly contributions to What's Up Newp (a popular local daily news publication) amplifying Women's Voices of Rhode Island:

As a year-end recap as 2025 drew to a close, Michele chose to focus her thought leadership on what she learned from interviewing all the women she featured in 20+ articles for What's Up Newp over the year. The over-arching theme was RESILIENCE. Read all about it here.

In the same spirit, Michele felt that 2026 needed a kickstart so she knitted together a proverbial "quilt" of Wit & Wisdom of Women's Voices in her recent WUN article that published this weekend. You can read it here.

What's On Deck this Month:

At City-by-the-Sea Communications, we build marketing communications campaigns quarter-by-quarter and measure progress while giving our clients lots of energy, TLC, connections and creativity. Here are some of the big projects we're working on for 1Q-2026 and we're excited to keep you updated on our results as we embark upon a new year!

We are so inspired collaborating with this Denver-based, women-led leadership firm, Bold Font, on their community building, content creation, and the launch of their new innovative conscious parenting initiative, Bold Parents. We're getting ready to roll out the first cohorts later this quarter!

City-by-the-Sea is helping Fresh Maps & Fresh Adventures launch and promote RI250 Quest, a new interactive learning and exploratory gaming experience that is linked to the country's Semi-quincentennial (and beyond!) and the Ocean State's 250th celebrations. Fresh Adventures will roll out future experiences in other states later this year and next year.

City-by-the-Sea Communications is helping these two (unrelated) local non-profit organizations, Portsmouth Historical Society and YANA Newport, to amplify and grow their membership programs, elevate their branding, forge like-minded partnerships, and build awareness for their events and programs. We are having fun watching the numbers climb on their respective goal thermometers! 🌡️

January tip: If you aren't using LinkedIn on a daily or weekly basis, we highly recommend that you start the year updating your profile and building your community. It's easy and fun!

Let us know if we can help you become

a thought leader in your industry!

📣 Shout-outs & Amplifications 📣

Michele would like to extend a shout out to Wendy Kagan of wekWorks. Wendy invited Michele to be part of her first women's leadership cohort in late 2025 and it was a wonderful illuminating experience, working alongside other women business owners and executives.

Also thank you to motivational speaker and author, Gail Lowney Alofsin, who inspires Michele, and so many others, every day with her deep belief in the power of positivity.
