Tell us about you.
Hi y’all, my name is Nicole Walden. I am from Chattanooga TN originally so yes; I have a southern accent and even after moving away to FL and TX for a number of years it held on strong.
What about your professional life?
On the professional side of things, I began using SOLIDWORKS in early 2000’s. Worked previously as an Application Engineer for a SOLIDWORKS Reseller (VAR). Evaluated companies’ networks, modeling practices, standards, along with performing custom installations and training for both SOLIDWORKS and PDM. I have now run 3 different SOLIDWORKS User Groups (FL, TX, and TN). I hold multiple SOLIDWORKS Certifications. At Astec I worked in both engineering and manufacturing. I am currently working towards a OneASTEC approach for both Mechanical CAD and SigmaNEST.
What do you like to do for fun?
On a personal note, I am now a newlywed and trying to get used to saying, husband. I “finished” a home remodel that was taken down to the studs. In my downtime, I enjoy landscape and food photography. Before Damion moved here from TX, I was always sending him food/landscape shots (he is a chef) to keep him up to date on what I was up to. I started uploading those to Google Maps while I was at it and oddly have 5,719,282 (and counting) views of my 2,400 images. So, the short of it is, I like to troubleshoot/test, optimize, train, eat well, take photographs, and spend time with my husband & friends. I love when applications/people USE logic and reason (L&R)! ❤️
