Dear WCC Community,
The finish line is in sight! Washington Canoe Club needs less than $500K to reach the Boathouse Rehabilitation Campaign’s $1M Phase 1 goal. One-third of our membership has donated or pledged support to restore the Boathouse to its original beauty and purpose. Our ultimate goal is 100% member participation.
It’s time for you to take the next step, so we can take ours!
WCC needs to raise these critical funds by June so we can kick off renovations this summer. Phase 1 renovations will focus on repairing and rehabilitating the boathouse’s structural integrity, stabilizing its exterior, and improving its physical appearance. But it’s more than new structural supports and paint—it’s about protecting the building from further deterioration and restoring WCC’s iconic architectural presence on the Potomac River. These improvements will enable the Club to reoccupy the entire ground floor, open the West Bay for indoor boat storage, and expand our community-building activities.
On Thursday, March 13th we will be hosting our second Call to Action night. Our campaign volunteers will be calling on you—our dedicated members—to help us cross the finish line and raise the renaming $491,439. But you don’t have to wait until next month!
Why are pledges great? A pledge is a powerful tool that lets you extend your gift while providing WCC with a more reliable source of funding. Your generosity will also inspire others, fostering a shared commitment to the campaign!
We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the incredible support from our community! Twenty-five generous donors have contributed $10,000+, earning them a special place in our Champions Circle. Over 50 donors have given between $1,000 and $9,999. We want everyone to be a part of this effort, so please, choose a giving level that is personally significant to you!
We know that, together, we can make this vision a reality! We look forward to connecting with you on March 13th.
With heartfelt thanks,
WCC Fundraising Committee
