THE LEAGUE IS SPEAKING OUT

Celina Stewart, Chief Executive Officer of the League of Women Voters of the United States, responded to Trump's "“Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections” executive order.

“This executive order is an assault on our republic and a dangerous attempt to silence American voters." (Read her full statement.)

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO

Tell your members of Congress to oppose the SAVE Act.

The House and Senate introduced the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require citizenship documentation to register to vote even though voters in every state are already required to affirm or verify their citizenship status when registering.

The SAVE Act would create one more barrier to the voting process, as many eligible voters do not have easy access to the necessary documents.Click here to easily send a message to your elected representatives.

PUBLIC EDUCATION LEGISLATION

Will Florida teens be replacement workers for deported immigrants? What to know about this child labor bill.

Ask Regulated Industries Committee Members to vote “NO”!

SB 918 - Employment of Minors - has made it through one committee and will be heard next by the Regulated Industries Committee which is chaired by Senator Joe Gruters (who already voted against this bill in the Commerce and Tourism Committee). This legislation would allow employers to schedule 16 and 17 year old minor children to work unlimited hours, overnight, and for more than six days in a row, regardless of whether school is in session or not. This bill also blocks local governments from passing curfews for teen workers that are stricter than state law.
