JUNE IS PRIDE MONTH

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

In the 2022 August Primary Election, only 36.7% of 349,554 Sarasota County Voters voted. For School board some seats were won by a margin of 5.5% or 6,719 votes. Only 26% of voters voted in the Universal Primaries for Hospital board.  That means...

less than a third of all voters are making the decisions that affect us all everyday.

I have talked to over 50 neighbors, friends, dog walkers and more about the August Primary. Only a handful were aware that it is the final election for School Board, even fewer were aware of the Hospital Board primary.

Please follow my lead. Reach out to your friends and neighbors:

  • Forward this newsletter with a personal message.
  • Ask if they have confirmed their registration.
  • Find out if they are aware the August primary is the final election for School Board.
  • Explain that this election is a key Republican Primary for Sarasota’s Public Hospital Board.
  • If they will be out of town, remind them of the change in the law which requires that they renew their vote by mail request for each election cycle.

I know social media is not everyone’s cup of tea. But, please follow us on Facebook and Instagram and like and share our Get Out The Vote and VBM posts with your friends.

There’s so much at stake in this critical August Election. Our goal is to increase voter turnout to over 45%. Let's work together to make it happen!

In League,

Shawn Bartelt, President
