For most of us, it's difficult to imagine worrying about where our family will sleep each night. And even if we can imagine it, we don’t really know how we would respond in such difficult circumstances. The fear and worry of facing all those challenges while not having a safe place for your child to sleep is a nightmare. And fighting this nightmare is why Family Promise of Cobb County exists.

When a family comes to us, we try to ease those worries and help parents get the tools they need. They work with our case manager to line up all the necessities to achieve stability. Some of those necessities include food, housing, jobs, and other resources to be on their own. Once they have reached all those milestones, they 'graduate' from our program. But our relationship with our families doesn't end once they move into their own place. Our staff and volunteers are present during some of the worst times these parents have faced. We have all bonded and they are members of our growing family.

HOME
Imagine overcoming all your fear and anxiety to do what is necessary to get into your own home. Our graduates feel like nothing short of celebrating once those keys are in their hands. Pictured above is the celebration of one of our recent graduates, a mom, and her four children. After 98 days with us, this mom’s hard work had paid off. And her teenage son, well he was happy to relax in his own bed! All of us in Family Promise believe that we ALL need a place to call home!
TRANSPORTATION
Another necessity for families is having reliable transportation, especially in Cobb County. That’s why when we heard that one of our 2020 Graduate families was having car issues we were happy to assist. In February they were gifted this car through the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® Program in partnership with Travelers Insurance and Gerber Collision. This program helps families in need secure reliable transportation.
TECHNOLOGY
Today, access to technology is essential. Check out the smiles from a recent grad at receiving a laptop upon exiting our program. We are grateful for the funds from our Family Promise Innovation Technology Grant. This $5,000 grant from Family Promise National is one of the ways we are enhancing our technological capacity for our network and our families.
PAYING IT FORWARD
We love when our grads come back and visit! We had a recent visit from one of our dads who stopped by to donate baby items that were gifted to him. He is feeling blessed to have more than enough to pay it forward.
