Ban Righ Hall in winter

Before you leave for Winter Break

As you bid farewell to campus, here's a quick checklist to ensure a smooth return:

  • Return your Good-to-Go containers – No one wants to come back to a stinky room.
  • Take out your garbage and recycling and dispose of any leftover food.
  • Close both panes of your window (inside and outside) and latch them to help prevent freezing pipes and floods.
  • Close blinds or curtains for added protection.
  • Clear all items from around your radiator or vents to keep heating systems safe.
  • Unplug everything except your refrigerator to avoid damage from power surges.
  • Remove all perishable items and garbage before you leave.
  • Lock your door – and remember to bring your keys with you!

Important: Residence Life and Facilities staff will be entering all rooms on December 19 to conduct room checks. Please make sure your space is ready before you leave.
