Casino Royale

Dear Friends,

I hope you were able to join us for the auction on Saturday evening, whether in person or in spirit. It was a resounding success and so much fun! Even "Elvis" made an appearance.

Katy and Andrew Madderson deserve enormous thanks for chairing this huge undertaking. Not only did the auction provide memories of a lovely evening, but thanks to the successful Fund-An-Item drive, the Madderson's (and our students') vision and hopes for a new play structure will become a reality this summer!

Our development team is operating on minimal sleep, as they worked countless hours to organize, set up, present, and clean up the auction. Now, they will get all purchases distributed while they finalize numbers (which are looking terrific— see information below). I am so proud of Christy and Wynter and grateful to have these gifted, tireless women among us.

Whether you donated items, did promotions, worked on classroom projects, helped decorate, helped serve, did beautiful landscaping touch-ups, helped tear down, helped hand out items, or any of the other many things to promote our success, THANK YOU and BLESS YOU!

Thanks for being here,

Barbara Bolaños

Principal

Saint Patrick, pray for us!

REACH 2024 Thank you (Postcard (US)) FINAL.jpg

—THANK YOU—

Wow... what a night! Saint Patrick Catholic School, thank you for betting on us. To date, we've raised a record-breaking $643,000 and counting at the 2024 R.E.A.C.H. Auction!

The development team would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to auction chairs Andrew and Katy Madderson, the R.E.A.C.H. Auction Board, parish and school administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, parishioners, donors, sponsors, community partners, vendors, and volunteers. Thank you for loving our community fully and abundantly.

The 49th Annual R.E.A.C.H. Auction celebrated Saint Patrick Catholic School's 131 years of Catholic Education. We raised the stakes, upped the ante, and Bet on Brighter Futures, hitting the jackpot at Casino Royale. There is still time to help us win big by purchasing class projects, multi-sale packages including a movie night experience and free dress week passes through March 31.

Playground updates are coming soon; construction will begin after school lets out in June, so there is still time to contribute to the Fund-An-Item, our Upper Playground Replacement Project.

Lenten Devotional

Saint Patrick Catholic School created a special Lenten Devotional to share with your family. Inside is a collection of reflections— one for each day of Lent from the Saint Patrick Catholic School community members.

On the first page, you will find a letter offering an idea of incorporating this devotional into your nightly meal time during Lent.

Stations of the Cross

Prepare your heart for Easter by praying the Stations of the Cross. On Good Friday, our 8th graders continue a Saint Patrick Catholic School tradition and reenact the Passion of Christ in a very moving Stations of the Cross.

Stations of the Cross is a traditional Lenten devotion, prayed especially on Good Friday. We will walk out silently after the Stations are prayed.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHTS

Student Spotlight

Saint Patrick Catholic School students continue to prepare their hearts for Easter during the season of Lent.

On March 15, ASB leaders led Stations of the Cross at Saint Patrick Church with leadership from 8th grade teacher Mr. Braeden Neal.

On Good Friday, 8th-grade students will lead us in prayer and reflection during the Living Stations of the Cross. (Scroll back up if you missed the details.)

We're proud of our students' accomplishments outside of the classroom! Do you know a student we should spotlight? Email us!

COMING UP

Lots of Socks

World Down Syndrome Day is March 21, and the theme is "End the Stereotypes," we hope to end stereotypes around Down syndrome and any other diverse learning needs in our school community.

On March 21, people worldwide celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks for the Lots of Socks.

March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have three copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because Ds chromosomes' karyotype looks like mismatched socks!

All you need to do is choose some socks that will get noticed— they might be mismatched or your wildest and most colorful socks, whatever works for you! Being a part of "Lots of Socks" helps us see how we are different and the same.

If you would like to learn more, please read the letter from Rachel and Nicholas Ford in last week's edition of The Blarney Stone.

Middle School Service Opportunity

Saint Patrick Catholic School has a new service opportunity for middle school students: helping arriving students open the car door, greeting them with a good morning, helping them out of the car, and closing the car door behind them. A staff member will supervise all volunteering students.

Safety Patrol volunteers report to the school office at 8:00 am. Upon arrival, volunteers will be given a safety vest and help a staff member with the student drop-off line on North 12th Street.

Supervising staff will sign off on student service hours; one day of service equals 30 minutes of required student service hours.

PHOTO HIGHLIGHT

Aspiring creative scriptwriters and puppet show producers in the 5th grade demonstrated their artistic talents by writing scripts, designing sets, crafting puppet characters, and ultimately presenting their imaginative work to an enthusiastic preschool audience.

This kind of hands-on experience not only fosters creativity and teamwork but also provides valuable opportunities for older students to engage with and inspire younger learners.
