Willow came to Longmont Humane Society after her owner passed away. She was overweight, anxious, and under socialized. Our “red cat” volunteer team worked with Willow every day to help her settle in and begin to trust. Our shelter vet helped fine tune her diet to deal with some digestive issues and worked with the team to address her anxiety. Eventually Willow went to live in a foster home for a month to get a break from the shelter and more intensive socialization. Willow began to blossom and learn what it’s like to feel safe and cared for.
Finally, Willow found her perfect match in a loving adopter. We recently received this heartwarming update:
“Willow is my best friend (even though I still get hissed at sometimes 😆). She’s made so much progress in the past six months! She conquered stairs, learned to enjoy chin scratches, and even curls up against my legs every night. She’s down a full pound from her adoption weight and is so much more mobile—she even jumped on the counter once, though she seems to have forgotten how she did it!
Willow loves sitting on the balcony with me, watching birds, and ‘scaring off’ cars with her fierce hissing. Her favorite toy right now? A long pink ribbon she could chase all day. And she adores Churus—I have them on autoship to keep up with her demands (she will bite if I forget).
Willow follows me everywhere and has become a constant, loving companion. I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for her and me. She’s healthy, content, and so very loved.”
From the entire team at Longmont Humane Society, THANK YOU for supporting the programs that helped Willow find her Happily Ever After.
