The Behavioral Health Education, Retention, and Expansion Network of Nevada (BeHERE NV) is a new workforce development initiative to increase the number of providers of behavioral health care in Nevada. In 2023, the Nevada Legislature unanimously passed Assembly Bill 37 to create a statewide behavioral health workforce development center within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). In September 2023, the NSHE Board of Regents designated the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) to serve as the administrative hub for BeHERE NV and to build connections across the state. | |  | |

| | Upcoming Student Loan Repayment Program Information Session | | |
BeHERE NV in partnership with NAMI Western Nevada invites you to a free virtual Student Loan Repayment options information session on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, from 12–1 pm PST. This information session includes a Q&A panel where participants will gain practical information to assist them in applying for available student loan repayment programs.
The virtual information session features panelists from:
· The Nevada Health Equity and Loan Assistance (HEAL) Program
· The Nevada Health Service Corps
· The National Health Service Corps
Important information about each program will be shared to help applicants during the upcoming application cycles. After this presentation, participants will have the information necessary to apply for available student loan repayment programs. Register Here!
| | Join the Conversation: Medicaid Town Hall | | Community members and stakeholders are invited to attend an upcoming Medicaid Town Hall hosted by Councilman Brian Knudsen in partnership with the Nevada Health Authority and Nevada Medicaid. The event will take place Thursday, June 18, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Workforce Connections. | | 2026 Rural Nevada Health Summit | | |
BeHERE Nevada is proud to partner with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Nevada State Office of Rural Health and several statewide organizations for the 2026 Nevada Rural Health Summit, taking place November 19–20, 2026, at the University of Nevada, Reno Joe Crowley Student Union.
This expanded one-and-a-half-day summit will bring together healthcare professionals, students, researchers, organizations, and community partners to explore innovative ideas, share research, and strengthen collaboration focused on improving rural health across Nevada. The event will highlight workforce development, community partnerships, and strategies to support rural healthcare systems and populations.
Applications are now open for speakers, poster presentations, and exhibitors. Organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities are also encouraged to participate in supporting this statewide event and student engagement opportunities.

| | CE Opportunity: ACT 201 Training Open to Graduate Students & Professionals | Delta Kappa Zeta, the CFT Honor Society at UNLV, is hosting an ACT 201 Training focused on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the UNLV Student Union. Open to all mental health graduate students and professionals, this training will provide participants with practical ACT interventions, metaphor techniques, and tools for assessing the six core ACT processes within the hexaflex model. The training will be led by Billy Arndt, LMFT, LADC. Registration space is limited and closes June 26. Nevada PEP’s newest initiative, the Family Peer Support Network of Nevada (FPSNN), is dedicated to strengthening and expanding the Family Peer Support workforce through certification training, technical assistance, and ongoing professional support. Rooted in lived experience, FPSNN equips Family Peer Support Specialists and Supervisors with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to effectively support Nevada’s children and families.

The summit provided a unique opportunity to connect with youth and inspire the next generation of behavioral health professionals. | | Dr. Jill Manit, Roni Green (Reed High School HSS CTE program), and Kyle Cassinelli (TMCC) partnered to offer 7 workshops to students at Cold Springs Middle School. We also had 4 high school students from Reed High School's Human and Social Services Career and Technical Education (CTE) program volunteer to help teach the students about careers in the behavioral health field.
