Regional Newsletter: June 2023

Current STEM BEST programs from all over Iowa were invited to participate in the 2nd Annual BEST STEMposium in Okoboji on June 11-13.

On the first day of the STEMposium, educators participated in a Gallery Walk of featured STEM BEST programs, Regional & Role Alike Conversations, Community Partner Panel, and Table Topics. That evening, the group was invited to Iowa Lakeside Laboratory for dinner and a tour of the grounds.

On Day 2, the STEMposium participants were invited to tour Okoboji Middle School and their No Boundaries spaces. Educators were also able to participate in a resource showcase, with several organizations and entities that provide support to our STEM BEST models!

The Southwest STEM Region had 16 educators attend!

Join us for STEM Day at the Iowa State Fair on August 20th!

Interested in working with schools and business to promote STEM in Iowa? The Southwest STEM Region is looking for a new Regional Manager beginning in August.
