COMMUNITY RESOURCES
This week, the UCLA Labor Center issued the following statement and list of resources in light of the breaking news impacting women in our community:
"We stand in unwavering support of survivors Dolores Huerta, Ana Murguia, Debra Rojas, and all the women and children who—despite decades of unthinkable fear, pain, and abuse by César Chávez—have courageously spoken truth to power.
To experience this within a movement grounded in justice and truth-telling is a burden that no person should bear. We affirm their stories and are grateful to them for trusting the public with this step in their healing journey.
We know that our movements for worker and immigrant rights are strongest as a collective—one person never represents the whole. Yet, we are only as powerful as our ability to hold ourselves to account.
We honor the women leaders and the farmworkers in our movements and support their struggles for dignity and justice.
If you are a survivor of sexual violence, please know that there are people and resources available to support you."
