Kings & Ted Karras Hat Partnership
|
Wow, what a turnout! Knight Nation truly showed up to purchase the limited edition co-branded Cincy Hat X Kings Knights hats.
As the first school district to partner with Cincinnati Bengal, Ted Karras and the Cincy Hat project, the sale was a huge success!
The sale brought in nearly $35,000 to support Kings and Ted's charity, the Village of Merici, an organization that supports adults with developmental disabilities. Karras said, “I’m absolutely blown away by the support from the Kings Local community. I think those are some of the coolest hats we’ve made throughout the project and it’s unbelievable to see the outpouring of love and support for the Village of Merici and our mission for the project.”
For more information on how the Ted Karras Cincy Hat project came to be and to learn about the amazing people at The Village of Merici, check out the Cincy Hat website: thecincyhat.com.
The limited-edition hats sold out but look for more collaborations in the future. For any other spiritwear needs, you can visit the Kings Online Spiritwear Store provided by our partner ROKKITWEAR. Additionally, you can pick up Kings Spiritwear at Lemons and Limes Boutique in Mason.

Former Kings Board Member Passes
It is with deep sadness that we report that former Kings Board of Education member, Bob Hinman has passed away. Bob lost his life unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26.
Bob dedicated his life to helping people and the Kings community. He served on the Kings Board of Education for 4 years. He was a member of the Kings Athletic Department Hall of Fame where he was the voice of Kings for over 20 years, announcing girl's volleyball and basketball games. He was also a supporter of Kings Theatre.
This is a huge loss for the Kings community. Please keep Bob's family and all who knew and loved him in your thoughts over the coming days.
Service information can be found in Bob's Obituary.

With the hot temperatures this week, the students in Amanda Wey's third-grade class at South Lebanon Elementary School decided to try a little experiment with crayons.
They came up with the idea to see if it would get hot enough to melt crayons. They attached crayons to a canvas and set them in the sun. They made hypotheses on how long it would take, which colors would melt first, and where they would melt best.
The students went outside a few different times to make observations and notice any changes. It took longer than anyone thought but in less than five hours, they found the crayons had melted down the canvas.
As with any experiment, there is an opportunity to learn. They learned that measuring the temperature with each observation would have been good data for the experiment.
Great job, third graders!

Congratulations to Kings High School Class of 2024 graduate, Keren Palaparty who was recently honored with a UC Health West Chester Hospital Healthcare Scholarship.
Keren served as a volunteer at UC West Chester while she was in high school. Volunteering gave her opportunities to learn more about clinical and non-clinical healthcare careers. Her experience in the Food Service Department was significant. She said she grew to appreciate the food service department noting how impressed she was with how much goes into making sure patients receive the best possible nutrition.
She received a $2,000 scholarship from UC Health. She is currently attending the University of Cincinnati studying Biology.

In an effort to be "green," the District does not send paper flyers home. We use a platform called Peachjar that houses flyers of community programs and resources.
Parents receive approved flyers via email, and they are posted on our digital flyerboard for easy retrieval. Any organization can distribute information to our community by creating an account!
