Good News: October 2026

Dear LCH Friends,

This month’s good news highlights the many ways LCH continues to make a difference in our community. From the generosity of Concordville Subaru's coat donation to our continued health screenings at Phillips Mushroom Farms, we are helping meet the needs of those we serve. Our participation in Light the Night alongside DVCCC reflects the strength of community partnerships. Thank you to our dedicated team and community partners for bringing our mission to life every day.

Good News

Coat Donation from Concordville Subaru

A huge thank you to our friends over at Concordville Subaru for donating over 300 winter coats for our patients. Just as the box implies, Driving Away the Cold. As temperatures drop, partnerships like this help us connect community generosity with meaningful local needs.

Together, we are providing warm smiles!

Health & Community Awareness

October Awareness

  • National Senior Health & Fitness Day (October 28): Seniors, a reminder to stay active! 💪 Many activities are happening on Fitness Day, so keep an eye out.

  • Halloween (October 31): LCH staff are having a costume contest; stay tuned to our social media for a fun surprise!

November Awareness

  • National Nurse Practitioner Week, November 8-14: Nurse practitioners play an important role in helping patients access care, manage ongoing health needs, and make informed decisions about their well-being. During this week, we recognize nurse practitioners for the care and support they provide to patients and families. Remember to thank the healthcare professionals who care for our community.

Celebrations & Milestones

Phillips Mushroom Screening

This month, an LCH team recently visited Phillips Mushroom Farms to provide health screenings to their workforce.

LCH's Board member, Adriana Perez, PhD, CRNP, ANP-BC, FAAN, FGSA, joined us and said, "I am beyond impressed with this incredible LCH team, and look forward to contributing more to this work!"

Thank you, Adriana, for joining us, and thank you, Phillips Mushrooms Farms, for welcoming us and trusting us with your care.

Community Day Event

On Saturday, October 3rd, LCH joined the New Garden Township Community Day Event with organizers such as Mighty Writers, Kennett Area Community Service, and the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

It was a day full of great people, amazing food, and connections. We had a variety of giveaways where participants could spin to win a prize. We were happy to share a few smiles and information about our services.

Light the Night with DVCCC

LCH is grateful to stand alongside Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC)

Survivors and community organizations attended. Together, words of encouragement and solidarity were written on white doves. Participants also reflected on what a healthy relationship looks like to them.

For David Villagomez, LCH's Behavioral Health Counselor, "The highlight of the night was hearing a survivor of DV speak to everyone and seeing how confident she was in sharing her story. It was a great experience and a wonderful reminder of why the work that DVCCC and LCH do is so important."
