Good News: June 2026

Dear LCH Friends,

As we close our fiscal year in June, I am grateful for the opportunity LCH has had to care for thousands of patients and help our community stay healthy through accessible, high-quality care. This impact is only possible because of our dedicated staff, whose compassion and commitment make a difference every day. That focus on keeping our community healthy is especially important during June's Men's Health Awareness Month, which reminds us that preventive care and regular checkups can help men live healthier, longer lives. I encourage the men in our community to take time this month to prioritize their health and schedule any needed screenings or appointments.

In good health,

Good News

In Good Hands at LCH Oxford - Raul

When Raul walked through our doors looking for social assistance, he found a long-term partner in Waleska Campos-Figueroa. Through weeks of complicated applications, Waleska’s supportive attitude kept him grounded until his family's benefits were officially approved.

Safety Around Water - YMCA/LCH

We’re grateful to the YMCA of Greater Brandywine for partnering with LCH to provide Safety Around Water training for our community. 💙🏊

Water safety is an important skill that can help prevent accidents and give children confidence around water. Through this partnership, local families were given access to free swimming instruction and water safety education. Learning just one new skill could make a difference this summer!

Teamwork on and off the Field!

LCH and Avon Grove School District partnered to provide student sports physicals at no cost, helping young athletes stay healthy, safe, and ready for the season ahead.  🏈⚽ 🩺

Thank you to AGSD for trusting us to support your students, and thank you to our donors who make this possible!

Health & Community Awareness

Let's Take Care of Each Other

This June, we are highlighting both Men’s Health Month and Men’s Mental Health Month because taking care of your mind is just as vital as taking care of your body.

Here are some words of encouragement from our behavioral health team:

  • "Being vulnerable at times and expressing emotion does not make you weak; it makes you human." -David
  • "Breaking the cycle and discussing feelings can help future generations feel more comfortable with doing so." -Meredith
  • "Taking time for your mental health is not selfish." -Marykate

National Cancer Survivors Day

We honor and celebrate the strength of the incredible cancer survivors living right here in our community. Your resilience inspires our entire team every single day.

Remember, early detection saves lives. Call LCH at 610.444.7550 to stay up to date on your routine screenings.

Celebrations & Milestones

Let's Celebrate Love!

This month, we celebrate love! Stand proud and support the LGBTQ+ community. Together, we can create a world where everyone is free to be themselves.

Celebrating Our Dads

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandpas, and father figures who make our community so strong! 👨‍👧‍👦

Your guidance and dedication shape our families every day. This month, we want to honor you and thank you for everything you do to keep our community vibrant. We hope your day is filled with joy.

Juneteenth

On June 19, we celebrate Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom and resilience. On this day in 1865, the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned of their emancipation.

Let’s honor this important milestone in our history by reflecting on the progress made and the work still ahead. Together, we can create a better future.
