Good News

The Only One I Listen to

(Picture: Patient Remo on the left)

Care does not have to start with a specific health concern—at LCH, it can begin with a simple checkup. Living a healthy lifestyle, Remo had not had a regular health checkup in decades. However, with some encouragement from his daughter, Remo decided to schedule a checkup at LCH Kennett Square.

Health & Community Awareness

Protect Your Children's Skin

Between outdoor sports, summer camps, and family gatherings, children spend much more time in the sun. Protecting your child from UV rays is important to prevent skin damage and skin cancer.

Choose a high SPF sunscreen to protect your child’s skin during these hot summer months. Experts recommend that all kids wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Hepatitis is Serious

Thousands of Americans contract viral hepatitis every year, which can lead to serious health issues such as liver scarring or cancer. The CDC recommends that every adult get tested for hepatitis at least once.

Talk to your provider about hepatitis. Schedule an appointment with us today.

Check In, Speak Up

It is up to all of us to help each other and recognize mental health issues.

Some signs to look for:

  • Persistent sadness
  • Appetite or weight changes
  • Pulling away from social activities
  • Changes in sleep or energy

Are you or a loved one experiencing any of the signs above? If so, visit LCH's website to learn more about our PIA Center for Behavioral Health.

Celebrations & Milestones

New Partnership!

We are happy to announce our brand-new partnership with Phillips Mushroom Farms! 🍄

Their trust in us allows LCH providers to bring care directly to their facility. This visit was one of many more to come.

UPenn Prostate Cancer Screening

UPenn teamed up with us to host a Prostate Cancer Blood Screening event at LCH in Kennett Square.

We are so grateful for your support in bringing health screenings, amazing giveaways from the Philadelphia Flyers, and incredible energy to LCH.

Together, we keep our community healthy and informed!

Care for Diabetic Patients

LCH recently hosted Retinal Eye Exams in conjunction with IBX and WillsEye Hospital. Helping our patients receive screenings for diabetic eye disease to prevent vision loss.

As noted by WillsEye Hospital. "Diabetic eye disease is the leading cause of blindness in working-age Americans. Vision loss is preventable with early detection and treatment. Because symptoms may be absent, annual diabetic eye exams are essential, even if vision seems normal."

Action Plan

Your Monthly Momentum List:

  • ✅ Tick Tip: Check yourself after being outside. Use fine-tipped tweezers to grab the tick close to the skin, pull straight up with steady pressure, then clean the area.

  • ✅ Outdoor Work Safety: Protect your skin from UV rays with sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and lightweight clothing.

  • ✅ Stay Hydrated: Drink water often, even before you feel thirsty. Take breaks in the shade when working outdoors.
