Dear Friends & Supporters of Bnai Zion Medical Center,
The last 48 hours have brought destruction to the streets of Haifa unlike anything we have seen in this war.
Yesterday evening, an Iranian ballistic missile carrying 400kg of explosives scored a direct hit on a seven-story residential building in Haifa. The impact caused a massive explosion and partial collapse of the structure. A fire broke out immediately. Rescue teams are still on the scene, searching desperately through the rubble for additional victims who may still be trapped. Firefighters have warned that the building remains in serious danger of total collapse.
The human toll is devastating. An 82-year-old man was pulled from the debris in serious condition after being struck by falling concrete. Three others sustained shrapnel and blast injuries, including a baby. Four more individuals are being treated for severe shock. Emergency responders are racing against time to ensure no one else is buried beneath the wreckage.
Across the north, Hezbollah has launched relentless rocket barrages, with sirens sounding repeatedly in the Galilee, Haifa, and surrounding areas. Israeli forces have struck back in Lebanon and Iran, but the attacks have not stopped.
At Bnai Zion Medical Center, we remain on the front line. Our doctors and nurses are operating from our fortified underground bunker—treating the wounded from this strike and others while rockets fly overhead. But the bunker is under immense strain. Supplies are being depleted. More casualties arrive every hour.
