🌟 June 2026 - SPOTLIGHT Edition

Greetings!

Every act of generosity helps strengthen DeKalb County. This month's Spotlight Edition highlights new and returning grant opportunities designed to support local ideas, projects, and programs that improve quality of life throughout our community.

Tell Us Your Good Idea

Some of the best ideas for strengthening our community come from the people who see local needs every day.

Beginning July 1, the Community Foundation's new Upward Mobility Grant Program will offer grants of up to $5,000 to support projects that expand opportunity and help people build better lives in DeKalb County.

Funding will be prioritized for projects that align with one of four focus areas: Education & Youth, Health & Well-Being, Housing & Transportation, and Income & Employment. Together, these areas help create opportunities for people and families to thrive.

The new program replaces Promise Grants and is designed to help turn community-driven ideas into action.

Residents, community groups, nonprofits, and units of government are encouraged to participate.

Applicants will begin by submitting a short Good Idea Form, with selected ideas invited to move forward in the application process.

Additional Grant Programs Open July 1

Nonprofit and public sector organizations are encouraged to explore additional funding opportunities through the Community Foundation.

Applications for Community Needs Grants and Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund Grants open July 1 and are due Sept. 1.
