Exciting news for our valued tenant! Odyssey Aviation US has officially rebranded as Velocity FBO Network, taking a strategic step toward unifying its North American operations under new ownership. This transformation includes three key U.S. locations: Detroit-area Willow Run, St. Simons Island, and our very own Kissimmee Gateway Airport. The rebrand marks the launch of a bold growth strategy, with plans to expand the network through additional FBO acquisitions. Over the next 90 days, all signage, digital platforms, uniforms, and service materials will reflect the new Velocity identity, offering a refreshed and cohesive brand experience. $1.5 Million Federal Grant Awarded to Kissimmee Gateway Airport for Taxiway A Lighting Upgrade

Big news for Kissimmee Gateway Airport! We’re thrilled to announce the award of $1.5 million in federal funding to fully reconstruct the lighting system on Taxiway A, which has reached the end of its useful life. This critical infrastructure grant was announced by District 9 Congressman Darren Soto as part of a broader federal investment in Central Florida aviation. The project will enhance safety, improve energy efficiency, and support continued growth at our airport by ensuring Taxiway A remains reliable and up to modern standards. Intern Spotlight: Dimarlyn Archuleta

Dimarlyn was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where she earned her degree in Foreign Affairs at the Central University of Venezuela. Growing up, she developed a deep passion for astronomy and aviation, fascinated by the night sky and the aircraft she’d see flying overhead. In 2024, she moved to Orlando and began her MBA at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Inspired by her lifelong love of aviation, she chose Embry-Riddle for its strong aeronautical focus—an environment that ultimately encouraged her to start ground school with the goal of becoming a private pilot.

A traveler at heart, Dimarlyn has explored 26 U.S. states and 17 National Parks (and counting!). She now lives in Kissimmee, FL, and spends her free time hiking, stargazing, and planning her next adventure. Dimarlyn has been an excellent contributor to our Airport Operations during her internship and has excelled in communicating with ATC to safely drive around the airfield while conducting inspections. This experience will surely provide her great skills when she begins her flight training program.
