President's Update: Welcoming the Next Generation of Sleep Specialists | July 10-11,2025

I recently had the privilege of attending the 13th annual Sleep Medicine Boot Camp at the invitation of Dr. Montserrat Diaz, Director of the Sleep Medicine Residency Program at the University of Maryland. This one-and-a-half-day event is held each July at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore.

This year’s Boot Camp welcomed over 10 new sleep medicine fellows, offering them a valuable opportunity to connect with members of the Maryland and D.C. sleep medicine community. The program featured engaging lectures from many of the region’s leading sleep medicine experts and attracted a wide range of healthcare professionals.

We look forward to welcoming these new fellows at our 15th Annual Fall Conference, where some will share their work and present papers on current topics in sleep medicine.

Early bird registration is now open for the conference, which will be held at the Maritime Conference Center. I encourage you to register today and join us for what promises to be an outstanding event.

Warm regards,

Dr. Dennis Stiles

AADSM Standards for Practice: An Update for 2025

It’s the Documentation, Dentists!

Dentists are skilled at performing exams to assess candidacy for oral appliance therapy. However, challenges arise when detailing the findings in SOAP notes format for medical insurers. Inefficient and incomplete SOAP note practices often lead to claim denials and reimbursement delays.
