Scaling Heights to Fight Poverty | |
In August, life science leaders from across the country faced the challenge of a lifetime: hike 20 miles of rugged Pacific Northwest trails and climb 7,000 vertical feet in just three days. This wasn’t just a test of endurance — it was a mission to raise more than $1 million to fight poverty.
The trek was part of the 5th annual Timmerman Traverse, a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign benefitting Life Science Cares. Among the more than 20 leaders who participated, eight represented Life Science Cares Boston. Each hiker committed to raising $35,000 to support our programs, and every single one met or surpassed their goal!
Our Boston hikers:
- Chris Garabedian – $55k
- Aimee Raleigh – $43k
- Tamar Thompson – $43k
- Vyas Ramanan – $38k
- Katherine Andersen – $38k
- Ian Sanderson – $38k
- Kemi Olugemo – $36k
- Dorothy Lou Bailey – $35k
A heartfelt thank you to KCap Bio for their $50k sponsorship of the Timmerman Traverse and helping ensure more families have access to food and housing.
