California Arbor Week Festivities

Observed every year from March 7-14, California Arbor Week unites community members, businesses, and municipalities to recognize and educate how the benefits of trees are the foundational roots of successful, healthy cities and neighborhoods.

This year Canopy invites you to celebrate with the Palo Alto Art Center and Palo Alto City Library with tree-themed activities for all ages! Outdoor activities include two arborist-led tree walks at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m., arts and crafts, a “Stump an Arborist” booth where you can ask your most challenging tree questions, and more! Join us at 12:00 p.m. for a special gallery tour of artwork inspired by the city’s namesake tree, El Palo Alto.

Canopy's mission is to grow the urban forest in Midpeninsula communities for the benefit of all.

Our vision is a day when every resident of the Midpeninsula can step outside to walk, play, and thrive under the shade of healthy trees.
