Eastside College Preparatory School

It takes a village to grow the urban forest! Throughout Canopy’s history, tree champions from across sectors and communities have lent their unique talents and dedication to plant and care for trees where they are needed the most, nurture young leaders, and advocate for tree-filled neighborhoods.

Join us Saturday, June 18 as we celebrate 25 years of working together to grow healthy trees and healthy communities. As part of the festivities, Canopy is proud and grateful to honor eight tree champions, along with the key groups they represent.

Please join us in celebrating our honorees—and consider purchasing a ticket or making a gift in their honor!

Canopy webinar & workshop series returns

Canopy website_MV trees_email crop.jpeg

Mountain View’s tree canopy coverage is 17.7%, with approximately 75% of urban trees growing on private property, including single and multi-family homes, commercial properties, and industrial areas. Collectively, these trees provide millions of dollars in ecosystem services, as well as myriad community benefits.

More Trees Please, Canopy's webinar and workshop series, returns this June with two events featuring top takeaways from the City of Mountain View’s new Tree Technical Manual and urban forestry recommendations for residents.

Introducing East Palo Alto's new Urban Forest Master Plan

EPA UMFP report cover_email crop.jpg

Congratulations to the City of East Palo Alto! On Tuesday, April 19, the city council adopted the City's first Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP) and enhancements to the tree ordinances. This comprehensive and visionary report is a result of a thorough community engagement process, with recommendations that are based on well-researched and up-to-date data, measurements, and analysis, as well as state-of-the art urban ecology science. It also carefully incorporates the history and discrimination that has caused the inequity in tree canopy cover we see today.

Canopy's mission is to grow the urban forest in Midpeninsula communities for the benefit of all.

Our vision is a day when every resident of the Midpeninsula can step outside to walk, play, and thrive under the shade of healthy trees.
