April is National Volunteer Month, and CIS Dallas is excited to lead various volunteer events that make a lasting impact! We invite individuals and companies to come together and make a difference.

In celebration of National Volunteer Month, we would love to invite your company to join us in making a meaningful impact by hosting a Snack or Hygiene Packing Party. Events like these provide an opportunity for employees to come together and support students by assembling snack or hygiene kits. It’s a fun, hands-on way to give back to the community, and we would be thrilled to partner with you for this initiative.You can even include a note of encouragement for their success!

Shaping Futures: Students at Landry Elementary Leave Their Mark

At Landry Elementary School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Site Coordinator Karina is helping students envision their futures and the possibilities ahead. Through meaningful conversations and engaging activities, she’s preparing them for the transition to middle school and beyond—whether it’s joining an AVID group, developing strong study habits, or simply believing in their own potential.

A sign on the wall serves as a daily reminder: “The future of the world is in this room.” To make that message even more personal, students are adding their handprints to a poster, symbolizing their commitment to growth and success. With each handprint, they are not just marking the present—they are reaching for their future.

Building Connections Through Reading: Costco’s Reading Buddy Program

The Costco Reading Buddy Program is off to a fantastic start, creating meaningful connections between students and volunteers while fostering a love for reading. Each month, dedicated Costco volunteers spend time reading with students, helping them strengthen their literacy skills and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

A huge thank you to Costco and all the volunteers who make this program possible! We are excited to see students continue to grow as they explore new books and form lasting connections with their reading buddies.
