Notes of Joy - Week of June 20
This Week's Gospel: Mark 4:35-41
Now is the acceptable time; now is the day of salvation! Now we are in the storm, the boat almost swamped; but Jesus is here now, and when we call him, he will calm the storm. Even the wind and waves listen to him as they would to their creator. We also listen to him and are called to believe in the power of God’s word in him, a power greater than all that we fear.

Five stars for Clarke's Four-Wheeler Excursions
The Huntingtons enjoyed a four-wheeler outing with Clarke Hemphill last Saturday, heading up the Knik River valley from Jim Creek. Despite their inexperience, and due to Clarke's excellent instructions, the Huntingtons did not stall in deep water crossings, get stuck in the mud, or roll a machine. The weather was beautiful, the scenery was gorgeous, and the company was delightful. We'll be bidding high next time Clarke offers an outing at a silent auction!

** Clarke donated two 4-wheeler trips for the silent auction to raise funds for Pastor's moving fund. The Huntingtons were victorious with their bid for one of those trips.
Joy of Reading Book Club
Another beautiful Book Club Anniversary and day at Gerry’s lake home!  So lucky to have great weather for our annual event.  Gerry you are such a gracious and generous hostess – thank you!

Karen and Gerry - thank you for the meal planning and cooking. The Mexican lasagna was delicious.

Mona – thank you for praying and bringing your friend Paula along; I hope she enjoyed it.

No meeting in July, but we would like to get back to in-home meetings in August. Please let me know if you are will to host August 16th.

If you have any friends who might be interested in attending our book club, please invite them to try it out. We are fun! It’s good to have wonderful women to talk to.
Church Directories are Ready!
Thank you for getting your photos to us.  Please pick up a Church Directory at Church on Sundays or at the Church during Office Hours. One per household. Do not share the information with people outside our fellowship or use for commercial purposes.
Please call any Church Council Member and they will reach a Pastor for you. Do not hesitate to call! We have three pastors willing to help us during this time before Pastor Sean arrives in case of a pastoral care concern.
Name Tags
There are new Name Tags to wear for Sunday morning. They are on the wall next to the water fountain. A big thank you to Corrine Finnie for working on this project. If your name is missing or spelled wrong, please let her know! The plan is that we start wearing them in June to be accustomed to the pattern. This will help our new Pastor get to know us when he arrives July 5th! And it is a help to all of us.
