Notes of Joy - Week of May 2
This week's Gospel is John 15:1-8

This Sunday’s image of how the risen Christ shares his life with us is the image of the vine. Christ the vine and we the branches are alive in each other, in the mystery of mutual abiding described in the gospel and the first letter of John. Baptism makes us a part of Christ’s living and life-giving self and makes us alive with Christ’s life. As the vine brings food to the branches, Christ feeds us at his table. We are sent out to bear fruit for the life of the world.

On the Move (ALMOST!)

We are well on our way to raising the $9,000 for Pastor Sean and Becky’s moving allowance! Soon we will be marking our progress toward meeting our goal by following the moving van as it makes it way from Iowa to Alaska. Stay tuned! We are already half way there with $4,840 raised so far. All proceeds from the upcoming Silent Auction will be added.

If you would like to give, beyond your regular offering, please mark your check “moving expenses”. If it’s an electronic gift, click Special Offering and let the office know it’s for moving expenses.
Church Directory
We Need Your Photo!
We are completing a very needed Church Directory. This will help our new Pastor Sean Avery a great deal in his ministry. We will also all benefit from it in our continued ministry here at Joy Lutheran Church.

Please send a digitized photo of yourself and/or family to Or, you can send a photograph in the mail if you prefer. We recommend pictures which focus on your face.

Consider tithing to the Church on your stimulus check (this would be $140), or increasing your regular giving. Many are unable to do so during COVID; others feel their cup is overflowing. Let us pray for all and give according to our ability.
