We are thrilled to announce the winner of our 13th Annual Nourish Celebration Art Show in Denver, which will celebrate our new slogan of "Save Seeds. Grow Food. Celebrate Heritage!"


After careful deliberation, the panel of judges has selected the following artist as the winner of Global Seed Savers 13th Annual Nourish Celebration Art Show Competition:

Jini Kim Veenker

Artwork Title: Duality


Jini Kim Veenker is a printmaker from Tulsa, Oklahoma who is inspired by dark nature, her own personal spirituality, and her Korean heritage. Both of her undergraduate and graduate degrees are in painting, but she picked up printmaking in 2018 and is passionate more than ever. Nothing brings her more joy than seeing someone's face light up when they possess an original print made by her hand.

The recent Bukidnon Seed Steward Exchange, in collaboration with the Salumayag Youth Collective for Foresters, was a transformative celebration of seed preservation and environmental stewardship! Read more about the local seed stewards from diverse communities who actively participated, sharing a rich diversity of traditional seeds with unique stories and cultural significance. The event not only involved seed exchange but also fostered connections among stewards, emphasizing the deep connection between seeds and culture.

Blossoming Opportunities: Exploring Seed Production Potential at Oikos Orchard and Farm

The recent visit to Oikos Orchard and Farm proved to be a rich and enlightening experience, uniting key partners including Mr. Bernard Restificar, the farm's owner, as well as Aurora Perez, Sweetie Maurillo from Slow Food Sugbo. This visit emphasized the farm's commitment to sustainable and organic agriculture. The team also explored the proposed seed production site, equipped with vital infrastructure and advanced technology, further strengthening the potential partnership between GSS and Oikos.

Seeds of Collaboration: Highlights from the Cebu Seed Savers Officers' Bi-Monthly Meeting

The recent Cebu Seed Savers Officers' bi-monthly meeting was a collaborative gathering that brought together key partners, including Pestales, CONFFFED Secretary, and CONFFFED Officers, reflecting the shared commitment at the heart of their work. A significant highlight was the Policy Advocacy Workshop, where two vital policies on Organic Farming and Seed Sovereignty were drafted, with active participation and knowledge sharing, promising to enhance farming practices.
