Kick Off the Season of Giving with Adopt-A-Family

We’re excited to kick off our annual Adopt-A-Family program at Child & Family Center! This heartfelt tradition helps bring joy and comfort to children and families in our community who need it most during the holiday season. You can make a difference by adopting a family, donating holiday gifts, or contributing $25 gift cards for teens to stores like Walmart or Target.

To participate or learn more, please reach out to Cheryl Jones (cheryl.jones@childfamilycenter.org) and help us make the season brighter for every family we serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Trick-or-Treat event! We loved seeing all the creative costumes, smiling faces, and community spirit. From all of us at Child & Family Center, have a safe, fun, and happy Halloween!

Thank you for walking with us💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Child & Family Center’s 5K Walk for Domestic Violence Awareness! With over 300 participants, we raised more than $55,000 to support life-saving services for survivors and families in need.

The event featured inspiring moments, including a proclamation from Councilmember Patsy Ayala, a moving survivor story and $10,000 donation from Hello Auto Group, and an incredible $11,000 gift from NP Law. Guests also enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast prepared by the Santa Clarita Rotary Club.

We’re deeply grateful to our sponsors, walkers, volunteers, and community partners for making this event such a success. Your support helps ensure safety, healing, and hope for those affected by domestic violence.

Sharing Advice, Not Meds!

Promoting Safe Practices in Our Community

The Child & Family Center team recently participated in the national DEA Drug Take Back efforts, engaging community members in conversations about the risks of sharing prescription medications and the importance of disposing of them safely. Through educational materials and community outreach, the team helped raise awareness about preventing medication misuse and promoting healthy, informed choices.

🌟 Spotlight on Leadership: Heather Newton Represents Child & Family Center

on National HR Panel 🌟

This month, our very own Heather Newton, Director of Talent and Training, traveled to New York City to join a panel of HR leaders discussing the future of employee benefits, from rising healthcare costs and the impact of AI to meeting the needs of a multigenerational workforce.

We’re incredibly proud that Employee Benefit News recognized Child & Family Center as a nonprofit leading the way with a competitive, future-ready benefits package designed to support our amazing team.

At CFC, our employees are truly the heart of what we do. In a field where salaries can’t always match those in for-profit or government sectors, it’s the passion, dedication, and commitment of our staff that make all the difference for the families and communities we serve.

Breakfast with Leadership:

Celebrating Our Great New Team Members at Child & Family Center

Child & Family Center hosted a New Hire Breakfast with the CEO and Leadership Team this month, bringing together our newest team members for a warm welcome. The event provided an opportunity for staff to connect over breakfast, learn more about the Center’s mission, and hear directly from leadership about our shared commitment to strengthening families and supporting our community.

We’re thrilled to have such talented and compassionate individuals join the Child & Family Center team, and we look forward to the incredible impact they’ll make in the lives of those we serve.

Our CORE Prevention and Outreach team has been out on school campuses this month engaging students in conversations about healthy relationships. These outreach efforts are part of our ongoing commitment to prevent domestic violence and promote positive, supportive connections among youth.
